canvas

2nd assesment

For my final piece, i have combined Andy Warhol's colours for the background and also Rob Lee, who in a youtube video put lots of water colours on one half of the canvas, and slightly tilted it, then did it to the other side with another colour, so i tried it. The dripping in the background was influenced by Bill Hammond, but as the paint was dripping i tested to see how it would look if i rotated the canvas, and the result was pretty cool. The stencil of Paul McCartney was influence by banksy, and Roy Lichtenstein, it is stenciled like banksy, and is an up close shot of his face line Lichtenstein's

Sara Hughes is a sculptural artist that uses psychedelic colours, even though i am doing landscape paintings, i can use her choice of colours and style in my own way and develop them to work on paper.

Jon Tootill's works are implicitly loaded with political concerns and provide social commentary on historical and cultural phenomena. He demonstrates great inventiveness in his use of symbols and materials to describe events and characters. His works are rich in narrative content, surface treatment and powerful, argued iconography.
He uses flat colours with a smooth gradient, it looks "cartoonish" but its a very difficult thing to do.

Colin Mccahon's paintings usually consist of landscapes and are mostly clean, smooth rolling hills. This is one of my favorites of his work "six days". The tonal range in the skies of each section show stormy, cloudy and slightly clear skies.
Fernando Vicente's art works are modern but done in a 1930's style. Every portrait he has done, he has done it in a circular border which gives a nice vintage addition to it. All his subjects are female and he always draws internal parts of the body which looks creepy but amazing.
